Reverend Laura came to Riverside on May 21, 2007 as Minister, with a covenant service between Laura and Riverside Church on October 14, 2007.
A native of Decatur, Alabama, she is a graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama majoring in family and childhood development. She earned a Masters in Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia. Reverend Laura has served as an Associate Minister at Kenmore Presbyterian Church from 1992 to 1995, Solo Minister for Shortsville Presbyterian Church from 1995 to 2002, Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Geneva from 2002 to 2005, and Director of the Presbytery of Western New York’s Camp Duffield.
Reverend Laura married Reverend Stuart Buisch in May, 1998. Reverend Stuart is currently the minister for North Presbyterian Church in North Tonawanda. They have two daughters.
Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, Reverend Laura has actively helped Riverside transition into both digital and in-person worship. She leads frequent prayer services, special events, and traditional worship simultaneously online and in-person to keep everyone connected.
Lynda is the gal who greets you on the phone and in the office Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am until 2:30pm. She does a little bit of everything: types, prepares the church bulletins and church reporter, keeps the church calendar, handles church communications, maintains lists and records, and operates the church office. Lynda grew up in LaSalle and attended local schools. She and her husband Mark, an electrician, have three beautiful children.
Elizabeth Sanderson (Liz) has been a WNY musician and instructor since 2007. She studied music and education at SUNY Fredonia and Buffalo State College where she achieved NYS certification in Music and Childhood Education as well as a Bachelor’s in Childhood Education and Reading. Liz earned a Master's in Education Curriculum and Instruction at the University at Buffalo. She joined Riverside as the Music and Choir Director in January 2014.
Liz is a frequent performer in the Buffalo area as a soloist as well as a member of the Celtic Duo, Elemental Sprites. Additionally, Liz is a proud coach and adjudicator for the Kenny Awards through Sheas. She serves as a musician for several local ministries including St. Pius X, St. Christopher’s, St. Paul’s, and St. Mary’s.
In addition to her music contributions to our church, Liz shares and creates daily content for our social media pages and manages the new church website.
